The boat ride in the Mediterranean itself was a wonderful experience. I have never seen so many shades of blue water at the same time! Enchanting! Then the ruins of a well-built city of ages thousands of years ago… history stands before you at every step. A great experience, though much of it was just a look from the boat. Then the walk at Demre Myra through the rock-cut tombs from the Lycian era, built more than 5000 years ago, which was awe-striking. Another remarkable spot was the church of St Nicholas. The ruins of the church with the story of St Nicholas aliaas Santa Claus does strike a chord..

It was a well organized trip. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history and cultural aspects of the trip. Can recommend it for a fun day out. It’s good to remember that it’s a long bus ride. From our hotel in Belek it took me about 3-4 hours for a distance. Nevertheless, it was worth it.
